Tuition revenue is essential to maintaining the quality of Montessori Family School’s academic programs and funding day-to-day operations. Tuition is evaluated yearly by the MFS Board of Directors, and set in January, for the succeeding academic year. Tuition for the 2017-2018 school year:

10-month schedule — September through June

9:00 am – 3:00 pm: $19,100

4 Days Per Week

9:00 am – 3:00 pm: $17,000

*12-month optional program including 10-week Summer School


El Cerrito Campus

Kindergarten Transition Program

9:00 am – 3:00 pm: $21,300

Lower Elementary Program

9:00 am – 3:00 pm: $21,300

Upper Elementary Program

8:40 am – 3:00 pm: $21,300

Middle School Program

8:45 am – 3:00 pm: $23,300

Additional Fees

Lower & Upper Elementary Outdoor Education Fee: $200/one time
Middle School Activities Fee: $300/one time

Optional Programs

Extended Day

Before school care is provided beginning at 8 am; after school care is available until 6 pm. Families can purchase an extended-care package, or use both programs on a drop-in basis.

$10.50 / hour

Tuition Refund Plan

Required for families paying semi-annually or monthly: 1.9% of tuition.

Sibling Discount

A 5% discount is given for the second and each additional child in the same family.

Annual Giving Campaign

MFS relies on donations from individuals, foundations and corporations to support its mission. We ask for 100% participation from our families for our Annual Fund.
