The Montessori Family School Parents’ Association plays an important role in community-building, fundraising, and supporting the school in a myriad of other ways. The PA sponosors school dances and movie nights, speakers and entertainers, social events for parents and families, and various fundraisers. It also supports the teachers and staff, and provides hospitality at school events.
All MFS parents are PA members, and are welcome and encouraged to offer their time and talent contributing to PA events and other projects.
Regular monthly meetings of the PA board take place the first Thursday of each month from 7:30 – 9 pm. Meetings alternate between the Berkeley and El Cerrito Campuses. All MFS parents are welcome to attend all meetings, and all input is very much appreciated.
Each classroom has a representative PA Room Parent, who can answer questions about the PA, and help parents to get involved with other parents from their child’s class on PA events.
The PA’s biggest events each year are the Spaghetti Dinner in October, and the Spring Soirée and auction in March, which raises a significant amount of money to support MFS.
